Méthode de constatation et de mesure des résultats intermédiaires qui consiste à imputer les coûts à la période intermédiaire au cours de laquelle ils sont engagés plutôt qu'en fonction du niveau d'activité de la période. Selon cette méthode, la période intermédiaire est considérée, à l'instar d'un exercice, comme une période comptable distincte, et ce, sans égard au fait qu'elle constitue une partie intégrante de l'exercice.
